SAFRIreland Attends Animal Free Research Conference At Manchester Institute Of Biotechnology 

The Humane Research Trust held a day of talks on Tuesday the 17th of September where a range of researchers showcased their research methodologies for specific projects. Using methods such as 3D Cell Culture, Stem Cell Spinal Cord Organoids, Drug & Toxicity testing and Microfluid Devices.

TD Paul Murphy Introduces Bill To Ban Botox Testing On Animals 

On Wednesday the 18h iof September SAFRIreland along side other Animal Rights campaigners attended the Dáil Éireann Gallery to witness People Before Profit TD Paul Murphy announcing the Bill. We will now work alongside National Animal Rights Association and Irish Anti Vivisection Society to campaign across Ireland to make this important change happen.  

We Visit The Abbvie Botox Testing And Production Laboratory In Westport

On Thursday September 19th SAFRIreland attended a site tour of the facilities where Botox is being developed. Going there with one in question mind “How do you test for Botox these days?” We were relieved to hear a positive reply that they have moved away from using mice for LD50 tests and that they are now using Cell Based Assays instead. “Thankfully” was the word the spokesperson ended with.
